Igor Rogov – KAZGUU is the country’s main law school

On August 30, JSC KAZGUU University held an international research-to-practice conference with the participation of Kazakh, Russian, Moldovan and Jordanian experts on the topic: “The Constitution is the foundation of dynamic and sustainable development of society and the state”, timed to the 25th anniversary of Independence and the Constitution Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Chairman of the Constitutional Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan Igor Rogov, while congratulating the participants with the Constitution Day, noted that to date KAZGUU has continued with dignity the mission and the traditions established by the first founders of the university, among them are N. Shaikenov, E. Nurpeisov and M. Narikbayev.

“KAZGUU has become a strong competitor to existing alma mater, including KAZNU, since it was founded. Today this is one of the major specialized law schools of the country. A large proportion of contribution in this belongs to Maksut Narikbayev, he was able to raise KAZGUU status to the world university and today the university, almost the same age as our country’s independence, a little younger, trains a decent legal personnel, committed to national patriotism.”

In his speech, the head of the Constitutional Council also highlighted the role of the country’s fundamental law, the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which has become the logical conclusion of the process of the adoption of independence.

“The Constitution completed the process of legitimation of our independence, which we declared 25 years ago. The very form of the adoption of the Constitution in a national referendum in 1995, when almost all the citizens said “yes” to the Main Law, manifested the finalization of independence.”

Participants of the conference and representatives, delegates, lawyers from foreign partners of Kazakhstan (Ahmad TBEYSHAT – Member of the Constitutional Court of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan; Vyacheslav ZAPOROZHAN – Judge of the Constitutional Court of Moldova, Mikhail KLEANDROV – Judge of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation), discussed the issues concerning the quality of legal education at the international level, the role of constitutionalism in the development of society, law and the state, the development of the judiciary, and many other topics relevant to legal sphere.
