HUMAN RIGHTS DAYS

Dear students!

Higher School of Law announces beginning of the Human rights Day on November 21 – December 4th, 2018. Open lectures on variety of topics will be held in the framework of Practicum on Human rights protection discipline

The following speakers will be conducting Open lectures:

Mr. Denis Zhivaga, Deputy Director of the Kazakhstan International Bureau for Human Rights and Rule of Law, Coordinator of UNHCR projects on “Providing legal assistance to refugees and stateless persons”;

Mr. Ilyas Adilbaev, Director of the Kazakhstan International Bureau for Human Rights and Rule of Law Branch in Astana

Ms. Maria Voloshkevich, Legal Adviser, Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in the Republic of Kazakhstan;

Ms. Anastasia Kovalevskaya, human rights activist, director of AK Consulting.

The lectures will discuss topics related to the rights of refugees and migrants, issues of citizenship and statelessness, as well as aspects of respecting the rights of human rights defenders. First of all, this course of lectures will be of interest to students majoring in the “International Law” and who wish to study Human rights and want to work in the Human rights field.

Students from 1 to 4 courses are invited to participate in the Lectures. To participate, a student should register, as the number of seats is limited.

Students who do not study the “Practicum for the Protection of Human Rights”, but have attended at least 3 of 4 lectures will receive a Certificate of participation.
