The Higher School of Law hosted a guest lecture by Bizar Dosmakova

The Higher School of Law hosted a guest lecture by Bizar Dosmakova, the Deputy Director of Waste Management Department of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Zhanibek Baktygali, an expert in management of municipal solid waste of Waste Management Department of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan on April 7, 2016. The designated theme of the lecture “The state policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of waste management of production and consumption” is very relevant for modern Kazakhstan.  

The lecture was held in the framework of a discipline «Environmental and Land Law», and was organized by Babajanyan E., a senior lecturer of the Department of Civil, Business and Civil Procedural Law, and Dautbaeva-Mukhtarova A., an Associate Professor of the Department.

During the lecture Bizar Zhakievna presented the main problems of the sector of municipal solid waste and identified gaps of existing legislation. The guests shared their experience of such developed countries as Germany, Japan and South Korea in the field of waste management policy, where the principle of separate waste collection is legally enshrined. Students raised the question about the possibilities and prospects of waste management in Kazakhstan. Zhanibek Kadyrzhanuly presented demos, which were the result of the production of domestic recycling companies.
