KAZGUU team defended the title of winners of the Republican Olympiad in International Law

The II stage of Republican Subject Olympiad among students of specialty

International Law-5B030200 was held in JSC KAZGUU University on April 22-23, 2016. It

was organized on the basis of the Recommendations on the organization and conduct of the

Republican Subject Olympiad in basic higher educational institutions among students of

higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Republican Subject Olympiad is conducted to identify the development of specific

professional skills of future professionals and is one of the factors in supporting talented

students, and also in forming teams to participate in national and international competitions.

Olympiad was held in two stages:

1) The first stage – intramural;

2) The second stage – in basic universities.

The organizer of the Olympiad sent invitation letters to all 12 higher educational

institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which prepare specialists in "5B030200-

International Law (including KAZGUU University). At the end of stage I (intramural) 6

universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan (including KAZGUU University) sent an

application for participation in the II stage of the contest.

2. Students of Gumilev ENU (Astana);

3. Students of Turan-Astana University (Astana);

4. Students of KIMEP University (Almaty);

5. Students of KazUIRaWL (Almaty);

6. Students of Taraz State University (Taraz).

7. Students of Buketov KarGU (Karaganda)

Olympiad rounds

There were four rounds in the II stage.

During the I round of the Olympiad each participant took tests on the discipline "Public

International Law" in the state language.

During the II round each participant answered orally in English on the discipline "Public

International Law".

During the III round, each team solved the case in International Law in Russian.

The IV round was held in the form of an international trial on the case, given in the third round.

Award panel

In order to ensure a professional and objective assessment of the Olympiad participants’

knowledge, the competition commission was formed from the number of external scientists

and experts in International Law. Each member of the jury panel was responsible for preparing

the questions and tasks on certain rounds. The jury panel consists of:

At the end of the Olympiad the winners of individual championship were defined among

all participants in accordance with the score based on the results of all stages:

The winners of the team championship, which scored the maximum score among all

teams participating in the competition, are as follows:
