Department of Criminal Procedure Law and Criminalistics is one of the leading and best departments of M. Narikbayev KAZGUU University involved in preparation of specialists in the field of jurisprudence and law enforcement. The main feature of this process is a union of fundamental teaching and in-depth study of modern requirements of science, practice and legislation.

History of Department

Department of Criminal Procedure Law and Criminalistics has started its work since the establishment in 1994 of the Kazakh State Law Institute of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan.  Doctor of Laws, Professor, specialist in the field criminalistics and forensic Aubakirov Alexander Fidahmetovich was a head of Department until 2001.

In 2001 when KazGUU University was opened in Astana, Doctor of Laws, Professor Narikbayev Maksut Sultanovich was a head of Department.

2002 – 2003 Candidate of Laws, Professor Kim Klara Vasilyevna was a head of Department.  2003 – 2005 Candidate of Laws, professor Sembin Bolat Azhakayevich was a head of Department. 2005 – 2009 Master of Laws, Krushinsky Maksim Alekseyevich was a head of Department.  From May, 19 2009 to 2012 – Candidate of Laws, Khan Vitaly Vyacheslavovich was a head of Department.

In 2011by order of rector of KazGUU University, Doctor of Laws, Professor Kogamov M.Ch. the Department of criminal justice and criminalistics was renamed to Department of Criminal Procedure Law and Criminalistics.

From 2012 to the present time Candidate of Laws, Associate Professor Sergey G. Pen is a head of Department of Criminal Procedure Law and Criminalistics.
