I have been studying at M. Narikbayev KAZGUU University since 2012. During these four years the university has become my second home. I have met many friends, talented and diverse personalities here. Informative and interesting lectures of highly qualified teachers, modern library and the whole educational system of the university allow students to gain broad theoretical knowledge in legal studies. KAZGUU provides a lot of opportunities and possibilities for self-motivated students. There are whole range of clubs devoted to sport, music, charity and debates at the university.
But for me KAZGUU gave great opportunities academically, allowing me to be a member of the university team in the Republican Olympiad on Law 2015. Daily training on the theory of state and law issues, constitutional, civil, criminal legislation for several months has allowed our team to occupy the first place among the other teams of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
KAZGUU also holds annual republican scientific conferences on the humanities subjects in which collections of scientific papers dealing with issues of concern in various sectors of law and other humanities subjects are published. Thanks to the international department of M. Narikbayev KAZGUU University, I was given a great opportunity to study for six months at Wroclaw University (Poland) within the framework of academic mobility in the 2 course, where I represented not only the M. Narikbayev KAZGUU University, but also my country. Spending a semester abroad has not only helped me understand the system of European education, compare some aspects of European law with Kazakhstani law, but also expanded my horizons, giving me the opportunity to learn and be with students from different countries and cultures. In September 2015 I was lucky to be among the group of students and teachers who have studied in the summer course on European Protection of Human Rights at Viadrina University (Germany).While studying at KAZGUU I understood that the law is an area which I will devote my career and academic path. To date, scientific interest and knowledge in law allowed me to do an internship in a law firm GRATA and work as a paralegal, doing my first career steps in the legal field.

I, Aldabergenov Abay Dulatovich, the 4th course student of the Higher School of Law in specialty International Law at M. Narikbayev KAZGUU University, am undergoing practical training in the Delegation of the International Public Association «Penal Reform International» (PRI) in Central Asia. Work takes place in a very measured pace, the main feature of the PRI, in my opinion, is a clear and structured work. There are created absolutely all conditions for interns: there is a personal library of the organization, the supervisor of the practice, as well as the director and all the staff are open to discussions and consultations, all interns have the opportunity to engage in research activities, in view of the study and analysis of some of the problematic issues in the sphere of activity. It also provides further publication of our work. Under the auspices of the PRI there are often held conferences, trainings, in the organization of which we will also be actively involved. In addition, PRI has consultative status with the United Nations (ECOSOC), the Council of Europe and observer status with the African Human and Peoples’ Rights Commission, also PRI was registered in civil society organizations from the OAS (Organization of American States), and in Kazakhstan PRI cooperates with the Parliament, Supreme Court, General Prosecutor’s Office and the Government, so for the interns, especially for the students of specialty “International law”, there is a possibility of cooperation with the above units and find necessary information for their thesis. Currently PRI is engaged in several major projects in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, cooperates with UNICEF Kazakhstan, OHCHR of UN, the European Union, the Netherlands Embassy, the British Embassy, the Embassy of Switzerland, Embassy of Norway and South Africa. In general, for us the practice site deserves evaluation “excellent”! I thank the University for assistance in determining the place of practice, as well as the PRI team for providing conditions for personal fulfillment.

4 years ago, entering M. Narikbayev KAZGUU University, I did not expect that the university could care for their students considerately. M. Narikbayev KAZGUU University provided an opportunity for me and for hundreds of other students, who will gain a diploma this year, to undergo practical training in prestigious national companies, state agencies. KAZGUU provided only the best places to practice to their students; it was possible certainly with the staff’s incredible efforts and hard work. I was lucky to undergo the practice in the international law firm GRATA, which has offices in Azerbaijan, Belarus, China, Canada, Mongolia, the Netherlands, the UK, the USA, Switzerland and other countries, the total number of countries is 20. Now, sitting in Astana Branch of law firm GRATA among legal professionals, I constantly thank M. Narikbayev KAZGUU University, the staff of practice, career and employment department and in particular, Mukhamedzhanova D.U. for their hard work, constant communication and coordination of interns. For my part, I try not to tarnish the good name of the university and perform all assigned tasks most efficiently, showing a high level of theoretical training.

The topic of my thesis is the economic and legal analysis of corporate operations in European Union law and Eurasian Economic Union law. My supervisor is Daulenov M.M., Ph.D. The research of my thesis’ topic is directly related to the place of practice, and I am a 4th course student of the specialty International law, thus, I was very careful in choosing the topic of my thesis. The University has provided me the opportunity to undergo the practice in German Society of international cooperation (GIZ). GIZ in Kazakhstan supports the German Federal Government in implementing its aims in the field of development aid policy. In GIZ I am assigned to certain tasks regarding the company’s activities in the field of economy, energy, education and sustainable development, in particular, the translation of the documents into English, German, Russian, research and analysis of the projects. While passing practice at GIZ, it is pleasure to work and assist in the implementation of various projects and activities of the organization, and to feel as a part of the team. I would like to note the active participation and support of KAZGUU University, including the coordinator of practice Mukhamedzhanova D.U., who assists graduate students in determining the place of practice. I sincerely hope that the practice at GIZ will help me acquire new skills and realize myself as a specialist in international law.

I began to determine the place of practice from the 3rd course: I designed my CV, wrote motivational letters, and received letters of recommendation from my lecturers. In early September I sent my documents to all diplomatic missions in Astana, because I believe that the profession in international law is very prestigious, it implies knowledge of national and international law, several foreign languages, as well as it is related directly to the legal issues of foreign economic and diplomatic activity.

I managed to get several interested letters from embassy organizations. My choice has stopped on an internship at the Embassy of Spain in the Republic of Kazakhstan, as in addition to all the advantages of the development of communication skills, I felt that I could improve qualitatively my level of Spanish and prepare the practical section of my thesis. Interview was conducted by the Deputy Head of the Embassy of Spain in the Republic of Kazakhstan Ms. Ines Manrique Eskudero. During the passage of pre-diploma practice in the Spanish Embassy in the Republic of Kazakhstan I managed to get the opportunity to study and apply in practice the basic skills of diplomatic work. Moreover, I was able to take part in the diplomatic talks, in conferences, advocacy, preparation of information and reports to the press, providing interpretation and translation.

I want to express my gratitude to the University for the knowledge and the opportunity to pass practice at the Embassy of Spain.

В соответствии с графиком учебного плана производственная практика в этом году проходит с 25 января по 1 апреля. Координатор производственной практики Рахимбеков К.Е. заблаговременно провел собрание со студентами 4-го курса для введения в курс дела, обсуждения необходимых вопросов. С сентября месяца начали составляться списки студентов и определяться места прохождения практики. При определении места практики университетом учитывались тема дипломной работы, близость места жительства и желание студента. Еженедельно проводились собрания для оглашения списков и информирования студентов о согласования места прохождения их практики.

Я с нетерпением и радостью ждала назначенной даты, годы я получала знания ради этого. Я уверена, что я покажу себя только с положительной стороны, сделаю этой весной первый, самый важный шаг на своем трудовом пути, ведь я столько времени к этому готовилась, столько училась.

4 года назад я поступила в самый красивый университет страны, и скажу одно: я не ошиблась с выбором. КАЗГЮУ – это место, где каждый студент может раскрыть свои потенциал, таланты. Безусловно, я восхищаюсь образованностью и грамотностью профессорско-преподавательского состава, ведь здесь работают ведущие преподаватели, профессора, то есть профессионалы в различных отраслях права. На протяжении трех лет студенты КАЗГЮУ становятся победителями республиканской олимпиады по юридическим специальностям и специальностям международного права.
Наши студенты защищают честь Казахстана и университета на международной олимпиаде «Кубок Джессопа» в Вашингтоне, на Всероссийском турнире по криминалистике и уголовному процессу в г. Томске, ну и, конечно же, на международном чемпионате «Enactus» в г. Йоханнесбурге.
В КАЗГЮУ созданы все условия для занятий спортом: функционируют тренажерный и гимнастический залы, проводятся тренировки по секциям волейбола, баскетбола, футбола и т.д. В гостеприимных стенах этого желтого здания ребята раскрывают себя и с творческой стороны, так как именно здесь бурлит самая яркая студенческая жизнь. Стоит отметить, что КАЗГЮУ сотрудничает со многими зарубежными университетами – партнерами, поэтому каждый студент имеет возможность провести академический семестр в зарубежном вузе. Скоро мы уходим на производственную практику и я уже начинаю скучать по своему родному университету…
